Under Another Sun Audiobook Review

This is my first audiobook review, so I hope I do the story justice.

I was excited to get a chance to review DM Sicilian’s latest horror novel, Under Another Sun, in audiobook form. I read her previous book, Inside, which is still giving me nightmares. With Under Another Sun, the author presents an entirely different type of story. A mystery involving a lost sister and the twin brother struggling to cope with her disappearance. It’s as much of a thriller as it is a horror story, with multifaceted character development. I was at the edge of my seat as I listened to the book on my way to work.

I have to remind myself that I am not only reviewing the writing, which was excellent but the performance of the talented narrator, Katrina Medina. She gives the story a sense of gravitas and executes several distinct voices brilliantly. Whether it is portraying the confused and tormented Ray or capturing the sweet innocents of young Amelia, she distinguishes the voices admirably. As a writer, I would love for her to narrate one of my books.

I am excited to see what the author and narrator work on next. Hopefully, they’ll collaborate again on another book.
